Today Pray For: Rep. Maxine Waters

PLEASE … include these people in your prayers today. If we bombard heaven, things can change!

Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 to “love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

We pray for those in the news and for those who need the love of Jesus in their hearts. If there is anyone you feel compelled to pray for in this blog, please email me at akersofracing@aol.com.

On Sunday in Selma, Alabama, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) received a “National Unity Award) at the Martin and Coretta King Unity Breakfast. The question that leaves many scratching their heads is, “How can someone who continually demands and pushes for President Donald Trump’s impeachment be bestowed upon an honor of national unity when her biggest desire is to see America’s top official ousted from his job?”

It leaves many to wonder what the definition of unity is here. Is it for one specific group?

According to dictionary.com, here are the top five meanings of the word “unity”:

1. The state of being one, oneness.

  1. whole or totality as combining all its parts into one.

3. The state or fact of being united or combined into one, as of the parts of a whole, unification.

4. Absence of diversity; unvaried or uniform character.

  1. Oneness of mind, feeling, etc., as among a number of persons; concord, harmony or agreement.

President Trump’s behavior has been far from exemplary, and many of the things he has done and said could or should not be excused. We have prayed for him here on this website, and we continually pray that the Holy Spirit guides his actions instead of his ego and his mind.

But that doesn’t mean our congressional leaders, like Rep. Waters, should be divisive for America. Rep. Waters has been trying to get Trump impeached soon after he took office in January 2017. It is clear that Rep. Waters has a vendetta and an agenda against President Trump. Therefore we pray:

“Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, we know that not everyone is going to agree on everything, and personalities in this great but sometimes misguided country of ours are going to clash. That is why we ask you to send your Holy Spirit to Rep. Maxine Waters and overwhelm her with your love and grace and mercy. We ask for your forgiveness for her heart, which appears to be in a tough place right now. She spends a great deal of time talking about impeaching President Trump, apparently at the expense of the crucial domestic and foreign affairs of this country. Touch her heart. Give her peace–the peace that surpasses all understanding–and help her to try to work with President Trump to get things done in this country to help unify it, especially among the races and along party lines. Help her to see that being divisive is not helping anything. If there is anything vindictive in her heart, help her to get rid of it and do things your way.

Show her how to be Christ-like. Show Donald Trump how to be Christ-like. Show them both how to love the way you love them, with grace and mercy. Only You can make a difference, Heavenly Father, and only You can transform their hearts. The country needs unity, not division. Bring us together and help us to love one another using You as our example. I pray that Rep. Waters uses her influence for good and not for self-promotion and self-advancement. Help us to forgive her and show her the grace that You would show her. We pray all of these things in your precious and Holy name. Amen.”

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psa. 133:1)

“… until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13)
