Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 to “love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Secular rapper Nicki Minaj hasn’t exactly built her career on wholesome, family-friendly lyrics. As a matter of fact, her stage shows have sometimes bordered on the raunchy and her outfits well, more than a bit revealing.

Recently, however, Minaj “professed her salvation” in a song that has become very popular throughout the Christian iTunes chart. The fact that she has apparently become friends with gospel superstar Tasha Cobbs and has prayed for her through social media also gives an indication that Minaj may have found Jesus.  Therefore we pray for this child of God:

“Lord, we thank you and praise you for your glory and your power. We know with you that nothing is impossible. We pray today for your precious child Nicki Minaj. We know the reputation she has built and what is based upon. We know how worldly she has been in the past. Because we are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of the God, none of us can judge her or point fingers at her for what she has done. We are all guilty of sin.

But now, Father God, Ms. Minaj has publicly confessed you as savior in one of her songs. We thank you and praise You for that miraculous declaration, and we ask you now that You surround her with people that will disciple her and help her grow in her love for you. Purify her heart so that the evil one cannot steal this miraculous victory in her life. We ask You to surround her with people that will direct her away from her previous life and the temptations of the evil one to go back into that life.  Send her people that will encourage her to life her life sold out for Jesus. She know that she can impact an audience and has a great following. Help her to impact people for Christ in a much more powerful way than she ever influenced audiences for the world. Help her to make a difference in the lives of those who admire her talent, while letting those people know that she is only a humble servant of God.

You can use those who, before, appeared to be unusable for the Gospel, like the apostle Paul. Let Your light shine and flourish through Ms. Minaj and let her bring the lost to You. Let more and more entertainers and athletes, whom the public admires and sometimes worships, come to you so they can impact the world.

Again, we glorify You and praise You. Only You can make this happen. Let the power of the Holy Spirit reign in Nicki Minaj’s life. Amen.
