We all know Proverbs 3:5-6 — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding, but in all your ways submit to Him, and He will direct your paths.” … The moment you stop holding back from God is the moment everything begins to change. It doesn’t mean your situation will change overnight, but things will gradually begin to shift in that situation.
Philippians 4:5-6 reads, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” … Surpasses all understanding–that means it doesn’t make sense from the outside. That is calm in the middle of chaos.
There is a direct connection between how much you trust God and how boldly you pray. When trust is partial, prayer is cautious. You ask for small things. You hedge your requests. You qualify everything with, “If it’s Your will,” not as genuine surrender but as a way of protecting yourself from disappointment. But when you trust completely, prayer becomes a different conversation. Your bring the impossible to Him without embarrassment.
You name the thing that seems too far gone, too broken, too big. You ask for it specifically because you know not only that He can do it but that He WILL do it. Jesus said in Matthew 21:22, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” That verse requires complete trust to hold onto. The moment your faith waivers, you pull the request back to yourself. The person who trusts God completely does not pull back. They pray the prayer and water it with consistency.
They keep returning to it. They keep declaring it. Because they know who they are talking to and they know He is able.
