Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 to “love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
Today and every day going forward we will pray for those in the news and for those who need the love of Jesus in their hearts. If there is anyone you feel compelled to pray for in this blog, please email me at akersofracing@aol.com.
The anti-government protests across Iran are reported to be winding down, so let us pray today for the people of Iran and God’s protection over them. With starvation, poor housing and simply horrendous living conditions plaguing the country, we must pray that God intervenes to take down this totalitarian regime and that He shows the people His glory. Therefore:
“In the name of Jesus, we lift up the people of Iran to you today, Lord, and ask that you pour our your love and protection over them as they voice their displeasure and desperation to this Islamic, totalitarian government that continues to oppress them and steal from them. Father God, we ask you to reveal yourself to the Iranian people and let them know who You truly are–the Almighty, Everlasting God, the Prince of Peace. Let them know that You are all they need and that they can turn to You for their salvation and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Deliver them from the selfish people who are oppressing them but, better yet, turn the hearts of the oppressors so that they might see the damage they have caused in the lives of these people and bring restitution. Let the eyes of the people miraculously be opened to the lies and deceit they have been subjected to and to shun every false teaching that they have been born into. Let there be radical healing of their land, and bring them to the knowledge and understanding of Jesus Christ. Meet their every need–feed them, clothe them and shelter them and bless them in every way today and going forward. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
John 1:5 (MEV): “The light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.”
One week of anti-government protests across Iran has posed the greatest existential threat to the Islamic Republic’s theocratic regime in almost a decade.
The spontaneous protests, often taking place in smaller provincial cities, have taken not only the Iranian government by surprise, they have also shocked traditional opposition groups and analysts.
