Don’t Be an Angry Fool

I’m loving Gary Chapman’s book: “The Other Side of Love”: Handling Anger in a Godly Way.” I needed this book years ago, but there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, and you can’t go back and erase the past. But you can go forward and know that God’s love will ALWAYS prevail.

Proverbs 29:11 — “A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise person keeps it under control.” Lord, I give it to you and you will help me keep it under control. A wise man, whom God proclaims that’s He has given me wisdom, guards his mouth, knowing that he can bring endless grief upon himself if he doesn’t. I found that out the hard way.

Proverbs 19:11 —- A person’s insight gives him patience, and his virtue is to overlook and offense. See Proverbs 29:11 above.

Proverbs 14:7 — A quick-tempered man does foolish things. Chapman says “speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret.” Guilty; and for several years. Total regret.

Teach this to yourself: “There is that moment before the red-hot words begin that we can train ourselves to restrain our response. Working on that and praying every day about it.

Forbearance: Turn the matter over to God. You are choosing not to be offended. Don’t take yourself emotionally captive. A man’s wisdom gives him patience.

Release your anger to God; trust Him to do what is right. It’s a challenge to do so, but you must find a way to do it.

How can God work within me when I am at fault in a situation?

God, in everything I give thanks to you. Yes, in everything, and I praise you for what you are doing not only in my life but the life of my wife and children. You are working in this. You are doing it, and I love you for loving me and granting me grace and mercy.
