If the Enemy is Attacking You, Think on These Things

Don’t back down from the enemy. He’s scared and that’s why he will attack you. (Flickr)

If you feel like Satan has targeted you, it’s because he’s scared. Really scared.

By Shawn A. Akers

Did I not tell you that this book was incredible? Shake Free: How to Deal With the Storms, Shipwrecks and Snakes in Your Life is probably the most encouraging book I’ve ever read. In my opinion, it certainly is the best book Rev. Rodriguez has ever written–and I’ve read a few of them.

Check out these posts that hammer home my point: Just Shake it Off!, ‘For With God, All Things are Possible,’ and this Quote of the Day.

Today, I want to share with you an excerpt from the 12th chapter. Rev. Rodriguez says:

  • If the enemy is attacking you, it’s because God is about to use you.
  • If the enemy is attacking your life, it’s because God is working in you.
  • If the enemy is attacking your weakness, it’s because you’re about to display God’s strength.
  • If the enemy is attacking you right now, it’s because you’re so close to arriving in Rome (Paul’s destination). So close!

I don’t know about you, but I feel blessed. The enemy is attacking me right now. He’s attacking my life, and he’s attacking my weakness. That means God is about ready to use me, he’s working in me and I’m about to display God’s strength.

That’s enough encouragement to carry me throughout the day, the week, the month and the year. I hope you take this encouragement to heart.

The enemy doesn’t want you to do anything that will bring God glory and further His kingdom. If you’re doing that, then he’ll try to undermine you. Take up your weapons and fight Him–tooth and nail.

Do something today to step out of the boat and become a kingdom champion.

“I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:14)

Step Out of the Boat is a ministry created by Charisma Media Content Development Editor Shawn A. Akers and dedicated to help Christ followers to become spiritual champions and come to a more intimate relationship with Jesus. With its articles, podcasts and other forms of media, Step Out of the Boat encourages Christ followers to daily reach to a higher level in their calling. Shawn is a 35-year veteran sportswriter, a published poet and he published a story about Dale Earnhardt in NASCAR Chicken Soup for the Soul. You can read his blog here. You can also listen to his podcasts, the Javelin Sports Show, on the Charisma Podcast Network.

    • I think everyone does. Again, it’s the most encouraging book I’ve ever read, I think. It lifts you up!
