“This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (Hebrews 8:10, MEV)

If our hearts are not changed, following God’s rules will be unpleasant and difficult. We will rebel against being told how to live. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us new desires, helping us want to obey God. With new hearts, we find that serving God is our greatest joy.

Lord, change my heart in every way. I don’t want following you to be unpleasant and difficult. Give me a new heart, transform me so that serving you is my greatest joy every day.
